Travel Information

Grenoble is easily reachable by car, train or plane.

Train

From Paris, the fast TGV train departs from Gare de Lyon several times a day and reaches Grenoble within 3 hours. You may consult the Travel Guide of the SNCF.

Plane

The airport of Lyon-Satolas is served by most major airlines. From Lyon-Satolas you can take a shuttle bus to Grenoble (one hour, time-table). Grenoble Airport (Saint Geoirs) is served mostly by domestic flights, and from there you can take a bus to Grenoble (40 min). The busses arrive at a bus station ("gare routière") just beside the railway station ("gare SNCF").

Car (arriving from Lyon / Paris / Valence)

About 16km after the high-way toll (peaje, Mautstelle, péage), get off the high-way at "exit 5b" (salida 5b, Ausfahrt 5b, sortie 5b) to "Seyssins";
turn right, cross the river;
Caution: After the high-way toll, stay on the left lanes. Do not take the exit "Grenoble-Bastille" (right lane).
After crossing the river (see also the map),
at the first traffic circle, keep straight on towards "Seyssinet, Fontaine, St Nizier";
at the second traffic circle, turn right towards "Seyssins-Centre, Prisme";
at the third traffic circle, turn left to "Chateau de la Baume".

From the railway station or bus station you can take a Taxi or a bus to go to the Chateau de la Baume, also called Maison d'hôte du CEA. The precise address is:

Taxi

Taxis are waiting just in front of the railway station; the travel by Taxi will cost you between 10 and 16 Euros.

Tramway and Bus

From the railway station of Grenoble, turn right to the tramway. Before you get in, you have to take a ticket at the automatic vending machines at the tramway station. A ticket costs 1.14 Euros (7.50 Francs, the machine accepts coins only). This ticket is valid for the tramway and the bus.

Take the tramway number "A" to "Fontaine - La Poya." Get off from the tramway at the station "Louis Maisonnat". Then you may continue with either bus number 51 or 57.

Take the bus 51 to "Chaumières" or "Les Nalettes". Caution, make sure you do not take the one to "Percevalière" (ask the driver). Get off at the station "Marc Sangnier". The departures (from "Louis Maisonnat") for the afternoon of Sunday, june 27 are: 14:52, 16:07, 17:22, 18:37 and 19:46.

Take the bus 57 to "Garlettes" or "Cossey". Get off at the station "Marc Sangnier". The departures (from "Louis Maisonnat") for the afternoon of Sunday, june 27 are: 14:53, 16:33, 18:14 and 19:50.

From the bus station "Marc Sangnier", take the street "Joseph Moulin" and walk 500 meters to the Chateau de la Baume.
